Globalisation addressed at Qualicer 2014
The globalisation of the ceramic tile industry and its effects on the different manufacturing regions and their markets are a hot topic. The anti-dumping measures that the European Union imposed on Chinese imports have been in force for almost two years. Recently, there have been collective operations in which American and Asian groups have acquired European companies. In turn, European companies are pursuing their quest for greater competitiveness, including the internationalisation of their production.
QUALICER understands quality as an industry-wide concept. Quality in the production process, in the product, in its use in construction, in company management, in innovation, and in social responsibility. Must we choose between quality and competitiveness, between competitiveness and social or environmental loads? Are loads in all regions being evenly distributed to compete in the global market? Is an increase in tariff measures or other forms of protection of the industries of different regions with relation to disloyal practices to be expected? What is the future of our industry in the global village?
These and other questions of the greatest interest will be addressed in QUALICER 2014 by a panel of international business leaders made up of Jose Luis Lanuza (Managing Director of Keraben), Alfonso Panzani (Chairman of Ricchetti Group), Bong Kuan Shin (General Manager, Niro Ceramic Group), Alain Delcourt (Managing Director of Agrob Bruchtal) and Juan José Güemes (Chairman of the International Centre for Entrepreneurial Management at IE Business School).
